What are invisible characters and where do they come from?
Zero-width spaces, soft hyphens and byte-order marks — typically pasted from word processors, PDFs or messaging apps. They are invisible but can break code and searches; the cleaner removes them.
Can I keep some of the formatting?
Yes — every cleaning option is a checkbox. Uncheck, for example, "smart quotes" to keep typographic quotes as they are.
